3 days until the Big Bash!

The pinata is stapled shut and our living room is in quite a rut!  We are all set to go for Micah's Cookie Monster Bash except for one thing...their is rain in the forcast. 40% Chance of showers Saturday AM.  I booked our pool room here just in case and I am looking into the community room at the park. Either way, I know God is in control so I will make the most of whatever happens. :) Here is a little sample of the work in progress! :)

The Invitations Are Out!

October 30th we are throwing our son Micah's first birthday party.  I have been working on his party for a little over a month now.  For the little ones, we are having a "Cookie Monster Cookie Toss" game, and for the bigger kids we will have a cookie monster pinata. Can't wait for the big day...I'm praying for a sunny day and for everyone to have a great time. :) God is amazing and he's never let me down with the weather yet! :)

a little evening excursion with my favorite person

Linda's Mexican Delights in Long Beach

Ahhhh...it is always great spending a little QT with my hubby.  Tonight we went to one of our favorite resturants: Linda's Mexican Delights.  They have amazing chips and salsa and other homemade delicious foods...not only that but their food is very reasonably priced. Tonight we had a shredded beef empanada to start...delish.  I had a wet bean and cheese burrito and my husband had a taco salad with carne asada and a cheese enchilada.  I couldn't get enough of the chips and salsa! Theirs is hands down, the best I've ever had.  The chips are light and crisp, and always fresh.  And the salsa is just the right amount of spicy; and full of flavor.  SO GOOD!  From there we were off to Second Street in Belmont Shore.  I love walking around Second Street...there is so much to see.  And, we get to visit our friend Heather's botique gift shop: Blue Windows.  BW is such a beautiful store.  Heather has flawless taste and does an amazing job at merchandising...and she is an amazing person.  I am always so blessed visiting her store. :) So we walked around Second Street, said "hi" to Heather, and we were on our way home to pick up our little one. Such a great evening...good food and great company...can't ask for anything more. :)

Welcome Fall!

We are still a good week from Fall actually being here, but with this great weather outside it feels like it is already here. There are so many things I love about Fall.  Well first of all, I love that you can feel the holidays are just around the corner. I have so many great memories from my childhood from this time of year. I love watching the leaves change color and fall from the trees and stores change their merchandise.  And I also really enjoy all of the seasonal foods!  From Starbuck's Pumpkin Spice Latte to Trader Joe's Pumpkin Bread box mix...and then of course all of the delicious homemade recipes, it is just the beginning of so many yummy foods.  This year I am even more excited for Fall because my son is turning One at the end of October!  I am having SO much fun planning his party.  I am so thankful for the different seasons. What an awesome and creative God we have!
